Hollywood Foundation provides new soccer kits for Goal Hunters

Goal Hunters FC is a club that is based in Khayelitsha, and it was formed in 1992 as a way to keep children off the street. The club is affiliated to Khayelitsha local football association under the auspices of SAFA Cape Town and games are played at Khayelitsha Stadium. The club has been vocal about its challenges, which includes a lack of funding. Surrounding areas within the club are also poverty-stricken, and players often cannot afford basic equipment and gear to compete in games. The club also takes an active approach to develop the skills and abilities of its players.

On 2 February 2022, the Hollywood Foundation was proud to ease the burden off the club and its players through the contribution of new soccer kits. The Team from the Western Cape paid a friendly visit to the club to hand over the much-needed soccer gear and soccer kits. The Chairperson of the Club, A Jerry Bota, explained that the soccer kits will ease the burden off parents and coaches, who are responsible for buying equipment. He added that the contribution will also benefit young boys and girls in the community, as it will motivate them to be more involved in the sport.
