The Hollywood Foundation and the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation unite for the #EmpoweringHER Women in Business Awards
The Hollywood Foundation is proud to partner with starlet and philanthropist Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation, for the #EmpoweringHER campaign for Women’s Month. The R1.5 million campaign aims to shine a spotlight on various female-owned businesses in South Africa, that make a strong economic and community-driven impact.
This year for the second consecutive year, the selected businesses will be recognised through the Women in Business Awards, as part of the ground-breaking campaign. Through the Enterprise and Supplier Development programme, the campaign aims to touch the lives of even more businesses that are owned by women and break down barriers for them within the corporate space.
"When we started during COVID-19, we had always imagined expanding the campaign into a sustainable and fruitful partnership between us and the women business owners. Our inaugural awards in 2022 were a sheer success and this year we will be aiming for nothing short of excellent! This year, we are saying, “WE HONOUR HER RISE”
"Supporting female-owned businesses continues to be a major focus for us at the Hollywood Foundation, and we aim to use Women’s Month to showcase the hard work and determination that is invested into these businesses. This campaign has contributed to the remarkable growth of businesses in the last two years, which has been rewarding to witness. Women in sectors such as energy, waste management, property, and construction work twice as hard to penetrate the male-dominated sectors and as a Foundation we believe we have a role to play in equipping them with the necessary resources for them to deliver quality services. This year, we eagerly anticipate more women participating and bringing innovative solutions. SHE is the future!”
Qualifying Criteria and Requirements for Eligibility:
- Must be 100% Female Owned Businesses
- CIPC registration documentation and Valid Tax Certificate
- It must have a valid B-BBEE certificate/EME and or QSE sworn affidavit
- Business must be in operation for at least 12 months
- Business Plan or clear description of the nature of the company/ business
