Philakithi Community Service provides care to senior citizens in uMlazi’s Ward 85 and surrounding areas. The non-profit organisation’s mission is to provide community support to the elderly and strengthen relations with the community and stakeholders through promoting ubuntu and love.

Wings of Change is a non-profit organisation that is situated in Umlazi. It pays attention to an array of aspects, including social justice advocacy, environmental justice and urban and rural community transformation.

Darnall Zamani Orphans Outreach (Fortress Of Hope Church International) looks after 17 homes. The senior citizens at the homes care for 42 orphaned children in the village of Zamani in Darnall. Hollywoodbets saw that food security was a risk and donated food hampers to the organisation.

This KwaMashu-based organisation focuses on youth and social issues, such as drug abuse, unemployment and prostitution and not letting young people lose hope. The Hollywoodbets Team handed over a R85 000 cheque to the organisation as it strives to support clean-up and rebuilding efforts that would help the local community that was damaged during the civil unrest that happened in July.

Sparks Estate Cheshire Home, situated in Durban, is a registered welfare facility that provides care for 60 mentally and physically disabled residents. Established in 1979 and in existence for 40 years, the Home offers care to local communities.

This Marianhill based non-profit organisation was formed in 2008 by community members who cared for orphaned and vulnerable children. The organisation also has other programmes that include HIV/Aids awareness programmes, home-based care services and computer literacy, among the various other initiatives that they are involved in.

This organisation was founded by a group of dynamic women from Newlands East, who aim to support and give back to their community. Its services include the distribution of donated items, assisting survivors with their GBV cases and conducting prevention participatory training workshops and community support programmes.

The Ukukhanya kweSizwe Community Development is a non-profit organisation in KwaMashu that focusses on an array of factors that contribute towards holistic community development. These aspects include educational development, women and children development, and health programmes.

The recent upheaval in the country has seen many organisations face challenges, such as purchasing essential items. Thabitha Community Care Services is based in Wentworth, Durban, and it focuses on preventative, promotive and rehabilitative healthcare for individuals who are battling drug addiction.

Helping Hands Social Society is based in Chatsworth, Durban, and is a non-profit organisation. The name of the organisation speaks for itself, as it seeks to help and assist those in need.
