Hollywoodbets has donated an amount of R100 000 to support YFM’s efforts in assisting SMMEs in Gauteng to recover, following the recent unrest and violent protests.

Hollywoodbets has pledged an amount of R100 000 to assist with Gagasi FM’s efforts in assisting SMMEs to stand on their feet again, following the recent unrest and violent protests in KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng.

This African organisation has the aim to change the way that the world responds to hunger. It offers lifesaving interventions and development projects in seven developing countries in Africa and it constantly seeks to make a great impact on individuals who are in need. It also aims to eradicate poverty and malnutrition across Africa.

This Support Group is partnered with CANSA and it aims to support cancer patients and their families. The organisation offers services to patients, such as nutrition, patient support and free cancer screening. The organisation is primarily based in Phoenix and its goal is to offer person-centred community-based cancer support services to individuals that are free of charge.

The Qhakaza Foundation has a special place in its heart for the youth of today and it seeks to equip the youth with practical skills that will lead to empowerment. In Zulu, the word “Qhakaza” means to bloom or glitter, which ties into the organisation’s mission to raise young leaders.

The aim of the Cancer Association of South Africa is to assist those affected by cancer. It does this by offering a unique and integrated service to these individuals. The organisation enables research with regards to lowering cancer risk, educating the public regarding symptoms of cancer, screening and risk reduction and offering care and support to all individuals affected by this disease.

SG Bakery is a local and informal bakery, located in E-section in Umlazi, producing 100 to 120 loaves of bread per day. In June, Hollywoodbets reached out to assist the bakery and donated a 12-metre container with furniture, as the bakery was operating in a small, derelict shack.

Situated in Avoca Hills, this Club seeks to equip young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and also aims to discover raw and neglected talent. The Club currently consists of 76 athletes, however, majority of the members are jobless and rely on running to put food on the table.

Gemisquare Cakes are baking their way to success, one cake at time! This Amanzimtoti-based bakery has previously received support from Hollywoodbets which allowed them to expand their premises and create new branding.

Philakithi Community Service provides care to senior citizens in uMlazi’s Ward 85 and surrounding areas. The non-profit organisation’s mission is to provide community support to the elderly and strengthen relations with the community and stakeholders through promoting ubuntu and love.

Wings of Change is a non-profit organisation that is situated in Umlazi. It pays attention to an array of aspects, including social justice advocacy, environmental justice and urban and rural community transformation.

The Domino Foundation is located in Durban and aims to create essential structures geared towards supporting people, projects and programmes that meet the needs of individuals and communities.

This creche lives up to the meaning of its name, “we are coming with good things and greatness”. It was established in 2015 and it aims to keep children safe during the day and combat child abuse.

This home provides care to 84 children and adults who have intellectual and physical disabilities. The Jona Vaughn Home also provides a safe residential home and caring environment for people in Durban and surrounding areas. It does this while providing support for the families of people who have relatives at the home.

The South African Positive Women Ambassadors is an organisation that was founded by women and helps women who are living with HIV, cancer and have survived gender-based violence in the country. The non-governmental organisation has human rights activists who are part of its staff. SAPWA supports people from marginalised and vulnerable groups in South Africa.

This is a civil society formation based in Springtown, Durban. The Movement is drawn from all communities and promotes active citizenship. It also seeks to encourage individuals to speak out against issues that affect them.
