On Friday, 10 March 2023, the Hollywood Foundation Team, together with We are Durban Social Upliftment NPC and Gateway Theatre of Shopping, hosted an informative and engaging training session, as part of the Change in Action NPO Fair. The selected 20 NPOs gathered at the Olive Tree Church in Florida Road, Durban, for a fun-filled day, where they had a fantastic opportunity to meet other organisations who are doing great work in Durban, as well as gain vital marketing skills that will equip them for the future.

Representatives from the organisations, which included Childline KZN, Savuma ECD, CERT, Embocraft and Feed the Babies Fund, were excited to be selected for the Change in Action NPO Fair, and most of them expressed their desire to learn new knowledge, skills and abilities.  Cara Noble, a Senior CSI Coordinator for the Hollywood Foundation, Megan Hourquebie, the Operations Manager for the Hollywood Foundation, and Linda Morrison, the Managing Director for We are Durban Social Upliftment NPC, engaged in an interactive session to kick-start the day, where they imparted some words of wisdom that will help take the presentability skills of the NPOs to the next level.








Lance Nayager, a Social Media Coordinator for the Hollywood Foundation, kept the audience on their feet with an informative learning session regarding the use of Facebook, and how powerful the social media platform is for reaching wider audiences and helping to tell a touching story through copy, videos, reels and images. Lastly, the NPOs were proud to welcome the Team from Zapper, where Brent Fisher provided an in-depth training on ways to use the app, and the exciting features that it has to offer. Following a scrumptious lunch, representatives from the NPOs were prepped by the Purple Team for their very own video, where they had an opportunity to touch on what they do for communities, as well as the struggles and challenges that they face. The day ended on a very good note, as most representatives expressed their excitement for exhibiting at the Change in Action NPO Fair at Gateway Theatre of Shopping, from 24-26 March 2023.
