Bophelong Children’s Home and Day Care
The centre was started in 2016 with the goal to help improve the lives of the children living within the Bophelong township. Thanks to the centre these vulnerable youngsters now have a loving home, food, clothing and help with their education. The ultimate motivation behind the creation of this centre is the hope that these children will receive the support they need to reach their full potential so that they can do well in life. The beneficiaries range from newborn to 25 years in age. Thanks to this centre 78 people now have a home!
The Hollywoodbets Three Rivers Team felt inspired to support the centre’s amazing work by donating essential items including kettles, an urn, microwave, printer as well as some play equipment for the children including swings, a jungle gym and a plastic swimming pool.
Founder Emily Mohlaha is grateful for the assistance.
“The items donated have been a huge help to our home, we are now able to prepare tea and bath water quicker than before because of the urn that we now have while the microwave helps with warming large quantities of food quicker and saves our electricity. The jungle gym and swings are wonderful because the children now have access to more fun activities than chasing each other around in the yard. The printer has made our admin move faster and we don’t have to keep paying R2 for copies at the Internet café. The biggest joy for the children was the plastic swimming pool,” she said.
