Hollywoodbets Malmesbury chose to support ACVV Malmesbury as part of Hollywoodbets My Community Programme for 2018/2019. Read on to learn more about the team’s donation.
The ACVV is a 100% non-profit organisation in social services that caters for the welfare of both the elderly and children.
Their aim is to nurture, protect and develop those in need.
This organisation feeds and support those who are underprivileged as well as those who are homeless and living on the streets of Malmesbury.
They also assist and promote independent living for the elderly.
They provide services including primary health care, meals, medication, education related to personal hygiene and care as well as an environment that is socially interactive.
The ACVV focus on development programmes specifically for children under the age of 18 and within a family context with a particular focus being child protection and family preservation.
This centre first opened its doors in 1906, making it the oldest non-profit organisation in the social service field.
Team Members from Hollywoodbets Malmesbury visited the centre to deliver some necessities which included a Defy stove, extractor fan, pots, pans and a TV.
Service Centre Manager, Rienie Strydom, thanked the Team for their generosity.
“The ACVV will most definitely be able to do far more for the community with the donation received, we would like to increase food production for the homeless and the new stove, pots and pans will allow us to make this a reality. Without this donation we would not be able to feed those on the Malmesbury streets who have no one else to turn to,” she said.
