Hollywoodbets came on board as sponsors of the Phaka rugby show on SuperSport in 2018/19. The goal of the sponsorship was to aid in identifying, promoting and growing the sport of rugby at grassroot levels.
Swallows Rugby Club was one of the clubs identified by Phaka show host Kaunda Ntunja. Swallows was founded in 1911 by Dr Rubusana, a founding member of the ANC.
Kaunda encouraged Hollywoodbets to support this club because of their amazing history and formidable record. He knew our support would encourage and reward the ground-breaking work Swallows RFC is doing in their community.
The goal of the club has always been to help bring unity within the local community, and to help talented young players break through the glass ceiling.
The club has been instrumental in coaching and equipping players to move up to the provincial level. They are thrilled to have produced Springbok players – Makazole Mapimpi and Lukhanyo Am.
Swallows RFC is incredibly proud of the fact that they won all the tournaments they took part in between 1989 and 1991. They were recently crowned as Eastern Cape champions again in 2018.
The players get together to practice at the NU1 stadium in Mdantsane four times a week.

Hollywoodbets rewarded this club by donating tackle bags, shoulder bags, rugby balls, first aid kits, and trauma boards.
Hollywoodbets also sponsored playing kit for the team back in September 2018, making this our second donation to the club.
Former president of the Swallows as well as the Border Rugby Football Monwabisi Yako is thankful for the support.
