#HopeIsPower – SANTACO receives R100 000 Cheque

SANTACO receives R100 000 cheque

This organisation seeks to support a democratic, accountable and professional Taxi Industry in South Africa. It has the aim to ensure that the taxi industry is mobilised and organised around one vision. SANTACO acts as the voice of the industry and bargaining platform and it does this by coming up with relevant policies and engaging with various institutions inclusive of government.

As part of the #HopeIsPower campaign, Hollywoodbets visited the organisation at South Beach, Durban, on Tuesday, 10 August to hand over a cheque worth R100 000. The donation forms part of efforts to help organisations recover, after the days of unrest and looting that took place in KwaZulu-Natal.

Speaking about the recent upheaval, Yusuf Khaliva, the Chairperson of the organisation, stated, “The organisation represents the masses – a lot of people. A lot of our passengers were affected in a very big way”

“This is a very good initiative from Hollywoodbets whereby we have about 334 parcels that we will be giving out to the needy.”
