Back to School – Alpha Primary

Alpha Primary is based in Bell Road, Gelvandale, and it opened its doors to pupils in 1961. Apart from educating pupils, the school also provides them with extra activities, such as choir practice. Pupils and teachers were thrilled to hear that they will be receiving assistance from the Hollywood Foundation and the Back to School campaign this year.

The Hollywood Foundation Team from Parliament Street visited the school on 19 November 2021 to hand over stationery and uniforms, which is guaranteed to assist the pupils in the new schooling year. Dr C Hendricks, the Principal of Alpha Primary, said that this contribution will help to boost the self-esteem of the learners and added that his hopes and dreams for the school is to have a computer lab, a mini-bus for operating activities and a kitchen to prepare nutritious food for the learners.

“Majority of parents and learners receive a social grant and they can only contribute if they have extra money. We function on the help of parents and sponsorships, such as the Hollywood Foundation.”
