R3 million pledge to support learners through Back to School campaign

The Hollywood Foundation, powered by Hollywoodbets, has announced the return of its annual “Back to School” campaign, which seeks to bring hope to many South African children in need. Keeping in line with one of the Foundation’s values, education and training, this campaign will inject R3 million into growth and educational development across schools in the country.

A massive R500 000 of the budget has been allocated for the public to nominate schools that need support. Chosen schools will each receive between R5 000 and R15 000 worth of items, such as uniforms, shoes and stationery for their learners.

In addition, to assist in selecting the beneficiary schools, the Hollywood Foundation has partnered with starlet Nomzamo Mbatha and her Lighthouse Foundation, as well as Hollywoodbets’ 87 retail branches nationwide and nine Brand Ambassadors that include Brian Baloyi, Odwa and Akona Ndungane and Jerry Sikhosana.

“With COVID-19 and the unrest this year, it is important to support and uplift our children, who are our future. It is our responsibility to make a positive effect within our communities and help to guide our children in their new schooling year.”
