The 31 beneficiaries of Reiketseditse Disabled Day Care Centre in the Free State received essential food parcels to the tune of R12 500 from well-known bookmaker Hollywoodbets. Established in 2010, Reiketseditse has dedicated itself to helping disabled children within their community. From feeding the children to assisting them with their school work and conducting extracurricular activities, the centre operates as a place of both educational and personal learning and development. With the surge of Covid-19 in South Africa however, Reiketseditse has also fallen victim to the increasing hardships of food insecurity that the pandemic has stirred. Hollywoodbets responded to Reiketseditse’s call for aid and provided much-needed food parcels to the beneficiaries and their families.
This was Hollywoodbets’ second act of goodwill for Reiketseditse and to assist with their efforts. The donation was made possible after the company’s recent announcement that the Hollywoodbets My Community Programme, in collaboration with Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation, would be allocating R1 million to go to 60 NPOs and NGOs across all nine of South Africa’s provinces as part of their COVID-19 relief strategy.
Hollywoodbets Area Manager for the Free State, Skele Ntlatseng, was overjoyed to be able to step in at this time. “Hollywoodbets is delighted to be assisting a centre like Reiketseditse and to do our part to help them achieve their goal of helping their beneficiaries. We hope that our contributions will provide some relief to Reiketseditse so that they can maintain their centre during these tough times, allowing them to continue making a difference in the Phomolong community in the future.”
Reiketseditse Director, Mantoa Lelala, expressed her appreciation to Hollywoodbets for their continued support.
“We, the Reiketseditse Disabled Day Care Centre and the parents of the beneficiaries, appreciate the kindness that Hollywoodbets has shown us. Your company has been an asset to our centre by helping us continue our mission to assist disabled children. Thank you for all your support. We are so grateful!”
