Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle announced a groundbreaking naming rights sponsorship of Greyville and Scottsville Racecourses, which are now named the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse and Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse.

Whilst stadium sponsorship has become commonplace in other forms of sport in South Africa, this represents the first deal of its kind in the South African horse racing industry.

We are proud of the contribution we have made to horse racing over the past years through their trainer and workrider sponsorships, and the number of horses that run in their Hollywood Syndicate colours.

In addition to the sponsorship of Hollywoodbets Greyville and Hollywoodbets Scottsville, Hollywoodbets also sponsors several trainers and owns a number of horses through the Hollywood Syndicate.

The collaboration between Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle will encourage other bookmakers and corporate brands to get involved in sponsoring the sport of horse racing.

According to Devin Heffer, Hollywoodbets Brand and Communications Manager the future for this partnership looks bright.

“At Hollywoodbets we are incredibly passionate about the sport of horse racing, in fact that is where our roots are firmly planted, because it was a love of horse racing that started everything. When this opportunity came about, we were eager to get involved because we felt that it was only natural for two companies with such passion to work on advancing this great sport in our home of KwaZulu-Natal.”

Gold Circle Director, Babu Nunan, is excited to collaborate with Hollywoodbets.

“Hollywoodbets is a well-known bookmaker as well as our neighbour and going forward I believe this working relationship will be good for racing in KZN. We expect them to add colour and glamour to our events. Purple is a colour that is well-known all over KZN and by now bringing it to Hollywoodbets Greyville just before the Vodacom Durban July I think it’s going to brighten everything up, and even help our theme for this year!”
