The Hollywood Foundation is continuing with their mission of contributing sports kits and equipment to various development clubs across the country. Sports development is a key focus for the Team, who aim to uplift and empower communities and nurture the skills and abilities of upcoming athletes. In February, the Purple Team travelled to Cape Town in the Western Cape, in order to contribute a soccer sponsorship to a dynamic football club that seeks to prioritise the wellbeing of the youth through sport.

Unity Africa Cape Stars Soccer Academy was established in 2021, and it consists of hardworking coaches and staff who take an active interest in the development of its players. The club is comprised of two teams, Under-15 and Under-20. There are also junior structures put into place, in order to teach young stars who join the club. Currently, there are more than 22 players at the club, who practice four times a week at Western Province Training Ground. Players are between the ages of eight and 20, and they have found a sense of belonging and pride after joining the club. The main reason for the creation of the club was to empower the community and afford the youth a platform to remain fit and active. The determination and consistency of the club have also seen them produce three professional footballers. Given the Hollywood Foundation’s goal of empowering the youth and investing in future sport stars in the county, the Team was happy to lend a helping hand to Unity Africa Cape Stars Soccer Academy through a soccer sponsorship. On 26 February 2023, the Team from Wynberg was excited to pay a special visit to the club, to present them with their share of new sporting kits for their upcoming matches. Saleh Amisi, the Head Coach for Unity Africa Cape Stars Soccer Academy, thanked the Hollywood Foundation for their support, and said that the new sporting kits will have a positive impact on the players, and the club as a whole.
