The Hollywood Foundation has always put the needs of the community first, which is why in November, the Purple Team travelled to Boksburg in Mpumalanga to affirm its commitment to community empowerment as part of many CSI projects.
The Team contributed various items, including a fridge, chairs, pans, school stationery, and kids toys, other things to Ekulindeni Day Care Centre. This organisation was established in 1987, with the aim to offer basic care services to the vulnerable children in the area. Some of the services include safety and nutrition which benefits 78 children and the community at large.
Their wish is to expand their programmes to reach more disadvantaged children in the community. Before this contribution from the Hollywood Foundation, the organisation was struggling due to lack of resources. The iBranch Team in Mpumalanga lent a helping hand to help ease their burden so that the organisation can continue to serve the community. This was done as a CSI initiative.
Ellah Mncina, a Representative of Ekulindeni Day Care Centre, said that most of the children they serve come from disadvantaged communities. She expressed her gratitude to the Hollywood Foundation for the generous contribution which she said will make a huge difference to the organisation.
