The Hollywood Foundation is continuing to leave a long-lasting impact on various sports teams in the country, through the contribution of new kits. Siwelele FC was one of many clubs that received support this month. The club was established in 2017 and it is comprised of a developmental and senior team. There are 22 players at the club, who practice five times a week. The club was formed to make a positive change in the lives of many young men in the community, and to prevent them from substance abuse. One of the club’s proudest moments was winning a tournament in 2019.
The club has been vocal about the many challenges that it faces on a constant basis. One major challenge was a lack of funding, as the Chairman of the club, Thulani C Sibanyoni, paid for many services and items that the club required from his own pocket. The club was proud to receive a visit from the Team from Mkhondo, who contributed brand-new soccer gear for the players to use in the new year. Thulani also stated that the new soccer kits will allow for the club to grow in terms of new players.
