SA Blind Cricket Team
The club first started in 1997. Their aim has always been to introduce blind cricket to South Africa and, through the sport, show the capabilities of people who are visually impaired. Their ultimate goal is also to build relationships within the communities.
There are currently 350 players competing at provincial level, while 22 players take part at national level. Registered players get together for weekly practise sessions at provincial level, while the national team is only able to practise together twice a year due to financial constraints.
Hollywoodbets chose to support Blind Cricket South Africa, as they required assistance with a new kit for their upcoming series. The club has shown that they can still perform at an elite international level, even though their vision is impaired. The sponsorship was made in the hope that the team would be able to gain more attention because of it. Hollywoodbets made a donation of two sets of 20 playing kits, 30 caps, 20 tracksuits and 25 golfer shirts.
Isaac Asanda Bidla, President of the club, feels that Hollywoodbets’ generosity will help change the future of SA Blind Cricket.

“The donation will help to improve the standard of blind cricket in South Africa. It will also help in elevating the status and profile of the Blind Proteas National Team. It will also help in our upcoming games and matches that we are set to play,” he said.
