At the heart of The Hollywood Foundation is the hope and intention of changing one life at a time whether young or old. Through the various Corporate Social Investments (CSI) Initiatives, the purple team aims to empower and create sustainable growth in all forms of community development around all corners of South Africa. Echoing their vision of providing Hope at the doorstep of every community with meaningful contributions was the Purple Team handing over items of change towards the Sinovuyo Old Age Group.
Formed in 2015, The Sinovuyo Old Age Group was created to bring engagement and activity to the lives of older citizens in the community of Khayelitsha in the Western Cape. Consisting of 27 beneficiaries, the club aims to provide a social haven to support and provide overall elderly care, through different activities such as gardening, social discussions and meal provisions. The club provides a safe space for the elderly to find a form of dignity and empowerment for their general well-being.
On 25 March 2024, the Purple Team in the Western Cape through their CSI initiatives, descended once again to the town of Khayelitsha carrying items of change the Old Age Group highlighted in their much-needed request for day-to-day operations. The contributed goods such as kitchen and office items will benefit the general functionality of the organisation. Having previously bestowed the Old Age Group with a generous handover, the Purple Team was met with welcome arms and songs of warmth throughout the day. A representative of Sinovuyo Old Age Group, Mvuzo Stofila expressed, “We are grateful for this contribution because we will finally be able to function at the best level, benefiting the livelihoods of our beneficiaries through the various equipment that will assist the ease of our operations.”
The Hollywood Foundation continues to fill the gaps the various communities in South Africa face. The purpose of change and hope is one the Purple Team aim to influence to positively impact the generations to come and produce sustainable characters within the very fabric of the community.
