The Hollywood Foundation continues to make a positive impact in communities by partnering with community-based organisations through its CSI initiatives. In the heart of Bohlokong, Bethlehem, lies a beacon of hope and empowerment for individuals living with cerebral palsy – the Thamsanqa Association for Persons with Cerebral Palsy (TAPCP). Committed to fostering rehabilitation and well-being, this organisation stands as a testament to the transformative power of community-driven initiatives. Established in 2019, TAPCP serves as a sanctuary for individuals with cerebral palsy. Offering a range of services tailored to their unique needs, from physical therapy to skills development, the organisation aims to provide well-being and removing barriers for people living with disabilities.
Citing the financial difficulties faced by the organisation, that threatened the success of their impactful work in the community of Bohlokong, the Free State iBranch Team identified this organisation to receive much-needed assistance from the Foundation’s CSI programme. On 01 March 2024, the Hollywood Foundation alongside the Free State Team, visited TAPCP to handover equipment such as a microwave, washing machine and fridge, to assist with the daily operations and alleviate some of the struggles the organisation faced. Through targeted initiatives and partnerships, the Hollywood Foundation strives to break down barriers and create opportunities for meaningful engagement and growth.
Zandile Nhlapho, Manager of the Thamsanqa Association for Persons with Cerebral Palsy was thankful for the Hollywood Foundation’s generous contribution and said, “This contribution will not only help with our day-to-day operations, it will enrich the beneficiaries of our programme and make life a little easier for those who drive the change behind the scenes.”
