#HopeisPower with Gagasi and Tilda M (Pty) Ltd

Tilda M (Pty) Ltd is a fabric shop that is based in Pelham, Pietermaritzburg. The store is a female black-owned business that opened its doors to customers this year. Unfortunately, the business was one of many that was severely impacted by the violent unrest that took place in July this year. The store was looted and burnt and caused three interns and one seamstress to lose their jobs, while fabric, machinery, electrical equipment and newly-built shelves were also destroyed.

In an effort to make a difference, Hollywoodbets used the #HopeisPower campaign and partnered with Gagasi FM to contribute 28 pieces of scuba printed fabrics to Tilda M (Pty) Ltd, valued at R25 000. The hand over took place on 14 December 2021 and both teams travelled to Pietermaritzburg to give the business a much-needed boost and an early Christmas present.
