This non-profit organisation has a passion for the development, empowerment and upliftment of people who live in rural areas. The foundation seeks to equip these individuals with relevant information and skills to enhance careers through continuous seminars, workshops and mentorship programmes. The foundation also considers itself as a young and innovative organisation that understands the challenges that are facing today’s society.
Bakgethwa Foundation was thrilled to receive a R10 000 donation from Hollywoodbets, through the #HopeisPower initiative. The foundation, in turn, chose to assist an organisation called Tshwaraganang Children’s Home and donated hampers to them. Team Members from both organisations visited the home on Friday, 13 August at Hammanskraal, Gauteng, to hand over the hampers that contained essential food items. This forms part of efforts to assist establishments that were negatively affected by last month’s violent unrest and it will enable the home to continue to assist children who are in need.
Clement Maosa, a spokesman for the Bakgethwa Foundation, stated that they chose to donate food hampers to the home because it cares for 42 children and it may become difficult to find donations or help from other establishments. He also stated that the home is doing a “great job” and added that “raising kids is a very important aspect of our lives”.
