Ratasetjhaba Primary Farm School was established in 1945 with the aim to educate people who worked on the farms. Currently, the school caters for over 400 learners and embraces ethnic and cultural diversity. The school is comprised of dedicated and hardworking learners who have consistently produced good academic results. Keeping in line with one of its core pillars, Education and Training, the Hollywood Foundation is continuing to make a difference in various educational institutions across South Africa. Upon a site visit, the team chose to assist the school with a library renovation, as they recognised the importance for learners to continue learning outside their normal class setting.
The launch of the newly-refurbished library at Ratasetjhaba Primary Farm School took place on Friday, 16 September 2022, at Meyerton Park, Meyerton, and included the presence of members from the school and representatives from the Hollywood Foundation. The library will have a positive impact within the community, as it will help to encourage the learners to learn and read further.
