The Corner House Youth Centre in Mpumalanga has become a hub of activities to uplift the youth and the community at large. Established in 2021, the organisation teaches the youth traditional dances with the aim to curb the scourge of teenage pregnancy and crime. The organisation also seeks to keep the children off the streets.
For the youth, the centre is a safe and secure environment where they are taught about life skills, with the aim of producing young leaders who will play an important role in the society.
Like any organisation, the centre lacks resources, however, the Team Members from the Acornhoek branch came to their aid with a contribution of cultural and traditional clothing, drums and takkies.
According to Catherine Nziyane, a Co-ordinator at this organisation, their wish is to one day see these kids being educated and improving their lives in the community. She said that the contribution from the Purple Team will help the organisation when the youth have to perform.
