The Hollywood Foundation was proud to partner with the Lighthouse Foundation earlier this year, using the Back to School campaign. The campaign seeks to empower and uplift schools that are located in disadvantaged areas in the country. The latest school that received assistance from the two organisations was Imbewenhle Primary School.
Based in Mandeni, Imbewenhle Primary School opened its doors to eager learners in 1968. The school felt blessed to hear the news that learners will be receiving assistance from the campaign, as many of its learners are poor and vulnerable. The school has opened up about the many challenges that it faces on a constant basis, such as educating learners who were insecure as they did not own school items. On 21 February 2022, the school was treated to a friendly visit from the Team from KwaZulu-Natal, as well as members from the Lighthouse Foundation, who contributed school uniforms and school shoes for the learners to use. The school was also happy to receive assistance from Andimahle Building Events, a company who generously donated toiletries for the learners to use this year.
ET Msane, the Acting Principal for Imbewenhle Primary School, was left overwhelmed after receiving the much-needed support for the learners at the school, and said that the items will make a positive difference in the school, and it will also encourage the learners.
