Durban, 29 November 2024 – The Hollywood Foundation proudly celebrated the remarkable achievements of local entrepreneurs at the fourth KwaZulu-Natal Youth Business Awards, now rebranded as the Hollywood Foundation KwaZulu-Natal Youth Business Awards, following the Purple Brand’s announcement as Title Sponsor on 16 October 2024.
The prestigious event, held on Friday, 29 November at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre, spotlighted the unwavering pursuit of excellence by youth-owned businesses across KwaZulu-Natal. The awards aim to empower young entrepreneurs, enhance their growth potential, and foster long-term economic development in local communities.
As title sponsor, the non-profit organisation, committed a substantial investment of R260,000, with R20,000 allocated directly to the winners of each of the 13 award categories. This initiative underscores the Foundation’s dedication to nurturing SMMEs and driving sustainable economic upliftment.
Speaking on behalf of the Hollywood Foundation, Ms. Vuyisile Ngobese emphasized the power of collaboration in transforming the entrepreneurial landscape.
“When we take collaborative approaches to empower SMMEs, the results are profound. Businesses gain the tools and resources they need to deliver quality goods and services, expand their operations, access larger markets, and generate sustainable revenue. These successes, in turn, create jobs and drive economic upliftment, ultimately transforming entire communities,” said Ms. Ngobese.
The event was graced by the MEC for KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, alongside key stakeholders from the business and entrepreneurial sectors. Their presence highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in supporting small businesses and fostering youth empowerment.
