The Hollywood Foundation in partnership with starlet and philanthropist Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation, were proud to announce the winners of the #EmpoweringHER Women in Business Awards for 2022. The R1.5 million campaign, which ran for the duration of Women’s Month, succeeded in its goal of highlighting the hard work and determination that is invested into female-owned businesses in South Africa.
Both organisations have a strong focus on the upliftment and empowerment of women and announced the continuation of the impactful campaign at the start of August. Following a month-long selection process, the Top 10 finalists and the Top 3 winners were announced at a glittering ceremony that took place at Summer Place in Hyde Park in Johannesburg. Hosted by Television and Radio Presenter Pabi Moloi, the event focussed on encouraging women to imprint their mark in the business sector. The event included motivational speeches from Nomzamo Mbatha, Group Transformation Manager at the Hollywood Foundation, Babongile Mkhize, and a keynote address from Thuli Magubane. Langa Mavuso provided soulful music and entertainment, while powerful women, including Vuyiswa Zondi, the Founder and Managing Director of Corium Skincare, and Nicolette Mashile, the Founder of the Financial Bunny Financial and Consumer Education, engaged in panel discussions and offered motivational advice to up-and-coming businesswomen.
