Studies have shown that children who go to school on empty stomachs fail to concentrate on their studies which impact their education negatively. To change the narrative and make a difference, the Mafulo Ga Sisulu organisation, based at Mafulo Primary School, provides daily meals to orphans and vulnerable children in the school. In November, the Hollywood Foundation was privileged to assist the organisation through its various CSI initiatives.
Mafulo Ga Sisulu was established in 2010 in Olieven, Gauteng, with the aim to provide care and daily meals to orphans and vulnerable children in the school. The organisation wishes to achieve sustainability and expand to providing this service to other schools in the area. Like many organisations, there are hurdles along the way. For this organisation, it was the fridge and the stove that broke down which made it difficult for them to provide daily meals for their beneficiaries.
On 22 November 2022, the iBranch Team from Gauteng through a CSI initiative by the Hollywood Foundation, visited the organisation to hand over kitchen and garden equipment. Sara Molea, the Manager at Mafulo Ga Sisulu, said that she is very grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for the contribution which will go a long way in helping them on their mission of feeding the children.
