On 14 June 2024, the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme reached new heights with a heart-warming contribution to Fisantekraal High School. In a spirited visit, the Durbanville branch Team and the Hollywood Foundation Team was thrilled to hand over brand-new netball kits to the school’s dedicated Netball Club. This gesture is a testament to the Foundation’s commitment to uplifting communities through Sports Development and support for Grassroots initiatives.
Established in 2014, the Fisantekraal High School Netball Club has become a beacon of hope and growth for its players. With three Teams and 30 enthusiastic players, the Club has been a vital part of the school’s mission to foster holistic development among its learners. The Club’s remarkable achievement of participating in the Cape Town Netball Schools Play Offs stands as a significant highlight in its journey. Through the CSI programme, the Hollywood Foundation has provided a crucial boost to these young athletes, enabling them to compete with renewed vigour and pride.
Before receiving the CSI contribution from the Hollywood Foundation, the Netball Club faced the challenge of having insufficient kits. The arrival of the new kits marks a transformative moment for the Club. Busiswa Xuba, the Club’s Coordinator, expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting, “We as a Club used to hire kits from the Community Clubs. With this contribution, we can now have enough kits for all our players.” This generous contribution not only ensures that every player has their own kit but also strengthens the Club’s ability to engage in practices and matches with greater confidence.
