On 11 June 2024, the Hollywood Foundation’s commitment to Community Development and support for Grassroots Sports took centre stage at Highlander FC. As part of their Corporate CSI programme, the Hollywood Foundation Team and the Bizana branch Team proudly delivered brand-new soccer kits to the young players of Highlander FC, an organisation dedicated to uplifting youth through sports and social skills.
Highlander FC, established in 2004, has been a beacon of hope in the community, providing two competitive Teams for under-13 and under-15 players. With a total of 20 enthusiastic athletes, the Club’s mission aligns seamlessly with the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI focus on fostering talent and confidence in young individuals. The excitement was palpable as players donned their new kits for the first time, their faces lighting up with joy and pride.
Zimisele Maphumulo, Manager at Highlander FC, expressed profound gratitude for this generous contribution. “This support from the Hollywood Foundation has given our Team a new sense of confidence,” he stated. “These kits will enhance our players’ performance on the field and foster a spirit of unity and pride within our community. We are deeply thankful for this opportunity to further develop our skills and represent our home with honour.”
The day of the kit handover was filled with smiles, cheers, and a renewed sense of purpose for the young athletes.
