In a heart-warming display of community support, the Hollywood Foundation, renowned for its commitment to sports development, recently partnered with their Purple Team at the Pietermaritzburg Selgro Branch, for a significant CSI initiative. This collaboration led to a generous contribution of brand-new soccer kits to Siyabonga FC, a local club dedicated to fostering soccer talent and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
Established in 2002, Siyabonga FC has become a beacon of hope and development in the community, working tirelessly to enhance the lives of young athletes through the sport of soccer. Recognising the club’s impactful contributions, the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI Team was eager to support their efforts, aiming to elevate grassroots teams and advance sports at the community level. On 4 June 2024, representatives from both the Hollywood Foundation and the Pietermaritzburg Selgro Branch, visited Siyabonga FC, to deliver the much-anticipated kits. The event was met with enthusiastic appreciation from players and coaches alike, marking a joyful occasion for the entire community.
The handover event showcased the profound impact of CSI programmes and their vital role in nurturing local talent. Siya, the Manager at Siyabonga FC, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for their generous contribution. These new kits will boost the morale of our players and enhance our ability to compete at higher levels.
