Hollywoodbets Brakpan chose to support Sivusithemba Community Home Based Care as part of Hollywoodbets My Community Programme for 2018/2019. Read on to learn more about the team’s donation.

Since 2006 Sivusithemba has been providing HIV/AIDS support and psychosocial support to those affected by the disease.
The organisation was started by a group of women who were concerned by how the HIV/AIDS epidemic was affecting their community.
They do home visits to their beneficiaries to assess their needs, and the staff also do presentations in public forums like schools and churches where they educate people about the disease.
In addition to that they provide counselling services to both children and adults.
They also offer nutritional support and refer affected and infected children to other support resources like social security.
The Hollywoodbets Brakpan Team visited the centre to hand deliver a fridge, school bags, school shoes, blanket, an urn and a microwave.
Centre staff member Dorothy Zikhali was overjoyed to receive this donation.
“Hollywoodbets’ sponsorship helped us a lot because our children are going to benefit from the school shoes and bags. The fridge, microwave and urn are going to play a big role in serving and warming up food for our vulnerable clients, and we are happy to be able to give them the blankets too,” she said.
