This aftercare facility is a place of safety to 60 orphans, vulnerable children and those living with disabilities. Nhluvuko’s beneficiaries hail from disadvantaged homes in and around the small town of Letsitele, near Tzaneen. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have lost their jobs or been put on short time and are now unable to cater for the most basic needs of their families. Those in dire need have been turning to Nhluvuko for assistance as they try to put food on the table at this time. Hollywoodbets donated R15 000 to this the centre, which helped the caregivers at the facility put together food parcels for 60 households.
South Africa’s leading bookmaker chose to provide the centre with this essential support courtesy of a collaboration between the Hollywoodbets My Community Programme and Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation. As part of their “Brighter Future” project R1 million will be given to 60 NPOs and NGOs across all nine South African provinces that have been severely affected by the pandemic.
This is the second time that Hollywoodbets has chosen to support Nhluvuko because they believe this organisation is truly adding value to their community. “We as a team are happy to be are able to assist this organisation because we know that they are making a big difference to the lives of people in this rural area where many are in desperate need. It warms our hearts to know that we were able to play a part in giving some relief to 60 families during this uncertain and scary time”, said Khanyisa Mkhari, Hollywoodbets Area Manager for Limpopo.
Centre Manager, Maria Baloyi, is thankful for the ongoing support they receive from Hollywoodbets.

“Hollywoodbets has come through again to support us and allow us to continue giving back to our people in need! This contribution will allow us to help those in need, especially the orphans. Due to many job losses during this pandemic, many children coming from disadvantaged homes will benefit and will now not go hungry,” she explained.
