Senior citizens, women and children, form part of the vulnerable people of the society and they need to be taken care of. As a way of giving back to the community it serves, the Hollywood Foundation, through its various CSI projects, lent a helping hand to Matengteng Home Based Care in Bushbuckridge to help them on their mission of caring for the disadvantaged in the community.
Matengteng Home Based Care was established in 2009 with the aim to create awareness and to also ensure that elderly, women, youth and children, are well taken care of by providing at least one meal a day to eradicate poverty. The organisation also helps to distribute clothing and help with Social Development services to the people who are in need.
To give them the support they need, the Branch Team from Mpumalanga visited the organisation on 25 November 2022, to contribute various items including chairs, tables, a printer, storage boxes, crockery and toys, as part of its CSI initiative.
Millet Mashua, the Chairperson at the organisation, said that they are grateful for the assistance. She said that people used to sit on the floor when they eat as they didn’t have enough chairs and tables.
