The Hollywood Foundation’s commitment to Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives continues to shine as Young Lions FC, a club based in Osizweni, received a generous handover of soccer kits and equipment on 23 July 2025. Established in 2019, the Club was created to protect young people from negative influences while nurturing their talent through Sport Development. Today, the Team boasts three squads with a total of 38 beneficiaries who are dedicated to growing their skills both on and off the field.
Through the Hollywood Foundation’s “My Sport” pillar, Hollywoodbets Osizweni branch nominated the Club, ensuring that Young Lions FC has the proper resources to empower their young players. Before receiving the support, the Club faced serious challenges during training, as they lacked basic equipment. With new soccer kits and gear, the players can now practice effectively and work towards refining their abilities. This investment is a major step in driving Sport Development, as it provides young people with opportunities to focus on discipline, teamwork, and long-term growth.
Young Lions FC has already built a proud legacy in the Osizweni community. The Club has won seven tournaments to date, proving that dedication and passion can overcome obstacles. Furthermore, they have developed players who have gone on to compete in the league – a remarkable milestone. Achievements such as these highlight the importance of investing in grassroots sports through CSI initiatives, as they pave the way for future stars and role models.
Club Manager, B.P. Dlamini, expressed his gratitude for the support, saying: “This contribution from the Hollywood Foundation means everything to us. For years, it was difficult for the boys to practice properly without resources. Now, with these kits and equipment, our Teams are motivated and confident. This kind of support shows how powerful CSI can be when it focuses on impactful programmes like Sports Development at community level.”
