On 7 June 2024, the Hollywood Foundation, through its impactful CSI programme, made a significant difference at Ysterplaat Primary School. The Montague Gardens branch Team, recognising the need for support, nominated the school’s Soccer Teams for a generous contribution that would elevate their game experience. The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI initiative has long been dedicated to empowering Grassroots Sports Teams across the country, and this visit was a testament to that commitment.
The school’s soccer programme includes four Teams: under-10, under-11, under-12, and under-13, with 11 players in each Team. These Teams are a vital part of the school’s extracurricular activities, contributing greatly to the holistic development of the young athletes. The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme stepped in to provide new soccer kits for the Teams, a gesture that was warmly received by students and staff alike.
The handover ceremony was a vibrant and joyful event. The Hollywood Foundation Team and the Montague Gardens branch Team arrived at Ysterplaat Primary School to a rousing welcome from the students. The new soccer kits were met with enthusiasm and excitement, marking a memorable day for everyone involved. The CSI-driven effort aimed to improve the Teams’ appearance and to enhance their sense of pride and unity on the field.
Ms. C Solomons, a representative for Ysterplaat Primary School, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the CSI contribution. She shared, “Many of our players come from underprivileged homes and often practice in their school uniforms. Thanks to the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI support, our soccer players can now proudly wear the same kit, helping them to be recognised and fostering a stronger Team spirit.”
The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme continues to make a tangible impact on communities, exemplifying how corporate responsibility can bring about positive change in grassroots sports and education.
