Welfare is an important focus for the Hollywood Foundation. In this day and age, there are many socio-economic challenges that affect our community, such as drugs, alcohol, and crime. As a caring non-profit organisation, the Purple Team has an aim to extend their reach to assist other organisations that share the same vision to uplift our community. With this in mind, the Team was humbled to extend a helping hand to Thandi Albertina Golden in Gauteng in December, through a meaningful CSI initiative.
Thandi Albertina Golden opened its doors in 2016, and it is comprised of dedicated staff who assist people who want to combat substance abuse. The organisation was inspired by Patrick Lee Golden, the CEO, who drew on his own personal experiences and a need to help other community members turn their life around. The organisation is working hard towards a goal of developing an onsite training hub. Patrick has opened up about the many financial struggles that he has had to face, including a reliance on fees to cover costs. On 30 December 2022, the iBranch Team from Gauteng embarked on a CSI initiative handover, and visited the organisation to contribute paint and equipment. This contribution has the aim to help the organisation to continue offering services to the community and supporting those who need help to overcome their struggles.
Patrick thanked the Purple Team for their assistance, and said, “This will take the pressure off us in terms of coming up with initiatives to revamp, enhance and improve our dorms.”
