A new day brings a new opportunity for the Hollywood Foundation to change lives and bring plenty of smiles to children across our country. Together with Mike Procter, a former South African cricket player and Brand Ambassador for Hollywoodbets, the Team paid a friendly visit to Ottawa Primary School, which is based in Phoenix in Durban. Excitement filled the air as Mike and the Team handed out some gifts for the children, which were educational and fun toys.
The school recently received assistance from the Hollywood Foundation, through the Back to School campaign. Previously, the school struggled to teach needy students, who came from primarily unemployed households. Mike Procter nominated the school to receive support this year, in the form of school shoes, uniforms and some stationery supplies. Mike has been involved with the school for more than 10 years and he has offered cricket coaching to the children free of charge, as well as running the physical education programme for over 1 100 children. In 2020, through the Mike Procter Foundation, he also implemented feeding schemes during the December and January holidays to ensure that the learners received nutritious meals.
Speaking about the meaningful event, Mike said, “We are here to present 100 children with gifts. This was meant to be Christmas gifts, but due to complications arising during COVID-19, we could only do it now. With these gifts, we hope to make the children feel happy and help to better their lives. If they’re happy, we’re happy.”
