The Hollywood Foundation is continuing to make a lasting impact in the community through the Back to School campaign for 2022 as it aims to empower the youth of South Africa.
One of the schools that received assistance was Qugqwaru Senior Primary School, which is based in KwaZulu-Natal.
Established in 1969, the school has provided the community with quality education for the past five decades. The school offers many extra-curricular activities, such as sport, music, spelling bees and athletics. The school was selected by Ongeziwe Zondani, a former South African Rugby Union Player and Producer for Phaka Rugby. The Team from the Eastern Cape was on hand on 10 March 2022, to donate uniforms and school shoes to the learners who were humbled to receive the aid.
Nelisa Mankayi, the Principal of the school, was thrilled to receive the news that their school was chosen. “I am so excited, it is the first time we are receiving such a blessing,” she said. “The attendance will now improve as well as their results, so we are very happy,” she added.
