The Kerr House is a women’s shelter located in Stamford Hill, Durban, and it seeks to offer professional support and assistance in the form of counselling, relief and rehabilitation. The shelter operates 24 hours a day and majority of the women are admitted through referrals from welfares, communities and religious organisations.
The Hollywoodbets Team visited the shelter on Monday, 26 July and graciously donated four food hampers that contain essential items, which forms part of the #HopeisPower campaign to assist organisations that have been severely impacted by the recent unrest. Hollywoodbets also announced its intention to nurture a good relationship with the organisation and aid them in the future.
“We felt incredibly vulnerable during these riots. We were unsure about where we were going to get food supplies for the people in our care. We are so incredibly blessed as Hollywoodbets has been amazing with all the goods that they have handed over today. These are basic food supplies that we can use to provide our beneficiaries with meals. On top of that we also have important PPE and cleaning supplies to help us prevent the spread of COVID-19. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much Hollywoodbets!”
