The Hollywood Foundation’s ESD department has once again demonstrated its commitment to uplifting local small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) through the successful execution of the Bambelela Business Awards in Limpopo. The awards, designed to recognise and support the vital role that small businesses play in growing and transforming the South African economy, saw winners taking home a share of R750 000 in funding.
In addition to the main awards, the ESD department ran an engaging social media competition to further expand the reach and impact of the Bambelela Business Awards. This competition invited social media users to nominate their favourite local businesses within the region, with the winning business receiving R10 000 worth of marketing collateral.
This innovative strategy not only created buzz around the awards but also provided a significant branding boost to the winning business. The Real Makoya Cleaning Chemicals emerged as the winner of this competition, earning valuable marketing tools to enhance their business presence.
The Hollywood Foundation Team recently visited The Real Makoya Cleaning Chemicals to hand over their prize, which included two teardrop flags, a gazebo, and business cards, all valued at R10 000. This generous contribution aligns with the ESD department’s mission to support local businesses in their growth and sustainability efforts.
