Restore to Rise

Applications Closed Rr 1 1 Restore to Rise restore-to-rise | Hollywood Foundation

In response to the devastating January floods that disrupted livelihoods and local economies across parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the Hollywood Foundation has introduced a targeted recovery intervention aimed at helping micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) get back on their feet.

The floods left many small businesses grappling with damaged infrastructure, lost stock, broken equipment and severe cash flow disruptions. Recognising the critical role these enterprises play in sustaining local economies, particularly in semi-urban and rural communities, the Foundation’s intervention is designed to provide practical, needs-based support that restores operational stability and protects jobs.

“MSMEs play a critical role in sustaining local economies. This intervention is structured to provide practical recovery assistance that supports business continuity and operational stability,” said Vuyisile Ngobese, Public Relations Officer of the Hollywood Foundation.

What the Intervention Covers

The intervention will provide needs-based assistance, which may include:

  • Stock support
  • Equipment support
  • Infrastructure-related assistance

All applications will be evaluated through an assessment process to ensure support is aligned with verified business requirements.

Eligible Areas:

The programme applies to MSMEs operating within designated flood-affected areas:

Limpopo:
Phalaborwa | Giyani | Tzaneen | Maruleng

Mpumalanga:
Bushbuckridge | Thaba Chweu | Mbombela | Nkomazi

The targeted approach is intended to direct resources where business recovery support can contribute to local economic continuity.

Qualifying Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a formally registered business with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
  • Have been operating for more than 12 months; and
  • Operate within the designated areas.

By enabling MSMEs to strengthen operations and maintain continuity, the Hollywood Foundation continues to invest in entrepreneurship, economic participation, and long-term community resilience.
