Since its establishment in 2002, Won Life has been a beacon of transformation, fuelled by a commitment to community upliftment through its impactful educational programme in Fisantekraal. Won Life has been tirelessly working to enhance education and foster growth in the vibrant community just outside Durbanville. Recognising the pivotal role children play in shaping the future, Won Life has focused its efforts on providing exceptional education and support, breaking the chains of poverty one child at a time.

Amidst the picturesque landscapes of Fisantekraal, Won Life has been an unwavering force, evolving to meet the evolving needs of its beneficiaries. With a strategic focus on improving the quality of basic education, Won Life has become a lifeline for many families seeking a brighter future. Having grown from 120 to 180 grade R beneficiaries, the organisation faces the daily challenge of limited resources, especially in providing essential meals for the children who rely on them for nourishment.

Recently, the Durbanville branch team, deeply moved by Won Life’s positive impact on the community, nominated the organisation for assistance from the Hollywood Foundation. On 19 January 2024, a heartwarming collaboration unfolded as the Hollywood Foundation team, alongside the Durbanville team, journeyed to Fisantekraal. Their mission is to deliver a much-needed contribution that would ease the pressure of the day-to-day running of the organisation.

In a touching moment of generosity, the Hollywood Foundation presented Won Life with a gas stove, cooking utensils, folding tables, and other essential kitchen supplies. The CSI initiative aimed at enhancing the organisation’s ability to prepare daily meals for the growing number of grade R learners. Lance Turner, Director at Won Life, expressed profound gratitude, saying, “We are grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for the contribution. It is going to greatly improve the efficient preparation of daily breakfast and lunch meals for our grade R learners.”

This collaborative effort between the Hollywood Foundation and Won Life is a testament to the power of community, compassion, and the profound impact that CSI initiatives can have on shaping a brighter future for all.
