PennyZondi Creation (Pty) Ltd is located in Pietermaritzburg and is owned by Nelisiwe Penelope Zondi. Nelisiwe was working at the back of her sister’s shop and she sewed dresses for excited customers. Following the violent unrest and looting in July, Nelisiwe was forced to go back home, and she is now jobless as her shop was looted and burnt.
Using the #HopeisPower campaign, Gagasi FM and Hollywoodbets formed a partnership to help many organisations that suffered the brunt of the riots. Both teams made it their mission to assist Nelisiwe and her business and travelled to visit her on 14 December 2021 to hand over various equipment items that were valued at R25 000, such as scissors, chair fabric, a sewing machine, a garment steamer platinum, a power life steam iron, a desk, a chair and a drawer.
Nelisiwe was beyond happy to receive the equipment and had some special words for the Hollywoodbets Team.
