#HopeIsPower with Gagasi FM and Burger boys

Burger Boys was established in 2020 and the business was a long-term dream for founder, Lungelo Buthelezi. Profits from a furniture shop were used to buy equipment for the business, which now offers mouth-watering meals to hungry customers in KwaDabeka, KwaZulu-Natal.

The business experienced hardship and struggle in July, following the violent riots and looting in KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng. 

“Unrest had major businesses on their knees. Most of our small businesses were affected by the unrest. Not having insurance made things even worse.”

Together with Gagasi FM, Hollywoodbets used the #HopeisPower initiative to make a meaningful impact on this business. On 16 November 2021, Burger Boys was thrilled to receive R25 000 worth of equipment, such as a double swing door cooler, a red display warmer, an electric griller, a double electric fryer and a table top chip cutter. Lungelo was grateful for the much-needed contribution.
