The Hollywood Foundation is making a remarkable impact on community development through its dedicated CSI programme. By nurturing sports talent within local communities, the Foundation ensures that young athletes receive the essential funding and resources they need to succeed. This initiative not only uplifts the community but also paves the way for a brighter future for sports across the nation.
In May 2024, the Hollywood Foundation significantly contributed to the Western Cape by providing rugby kits and equipment to grassroots rugby clubs. These CSI efforts empower young athletes to follow their passion without limitations, highlighting how sports can address social issues and teach vital skills like teamwork and responsibility.
On 05 May 2024, the Hollywood Foundation Team visited Bellville Rugby Club. Established in 1992, this club features six teams and 150 dedicated players. The CSI contribution of rugby kits and equipment was transformative for Bellville RC, equipping the young athletes with the tools they need to excel and hone their skills.
“This contribution from the Hollywood Foundation is invaluable. It will inspire our players to reach new heights,” said Chandre Jarvis, Bellville RC ChairladybhopppOn 07 May 2024, Van Der Stel – Evergreens Rugby Club received a visit from the Hollywood Foundation. Established in 2017, this club is home to 180 players, including junior and senior teams. The CSI contribution of kits and equipment will greatly enhance the club’s ability to foster young rugby talent. “The Hollywood Foundation’s generosity is a huge boost for us. It will help our players immensely,” expressed Charles Williams, Van Der Stel – Evergreens RC Chairman.
On 08 May 2024, the Hollywood Foundation Team visited Mamre Rugby Club, which was established in 1950 and hosts three teams with 160 players. The CSI initiative by the Foundation has strengthened the club’s resources, ensuring that rugby players have the support and equipment they need to thrive. “We are incredibly grateful for this support. It will have a lasting impact on our club’s growth,” remarked Bernett Stadler, Mamre RC Secretary.
The Hollywood Foundation then visited Flying Eagles Rugby Club on 09 May 2024 to hand over their CSI contribution of rugby kits and equipment. Established in 1981 and consisting of 84 players, the club was deeply appreciative. “We are deeply thankful to the Hollywood Foundation for their generous contribution. It will greatly benefit our players and club development,” said Gaylinth Hansen, Chairperson of Flying Eagles RC.
Lastly, the Hollywood Foundation visited Joe Slovo Engineering School Rugby Club, to deliver a much-needed contribution of rugby kits and equipment. Established in 1987, the club consists of three teams and 45 players. “The support from the Hollywood Foundation is a tremendous aid for our club. It empowers our young athletes to pursue their passion for rugby with the right resources,” expressed S.C. Mapatwana, Manager of Joe Slovo Engineering School RC.
