B.E.T. chose to support this incredible school that caters for learners with special needs for the second year in a row.
The school ensures that children who are living with disabilities receive quality education thereby setting them up for the future.
The learners are offered a mainstream curriculum with all the necessary and appropriate support required.
Open Air caters for learners all the way from Grade R up to Grade 12.
B.E.T. decided to donate a much-needed Resonance Screening Tymp and Audiometer that will assist teachers with monitoring the hearing sensitivity of all their learners.
They further provided bursaries that cover school and hostel fees to two scholars – Lungelo Mfusi and Thobelani Dlamini.
Stacey Hope, the school’s speech-language therapist and audiologist, is grateful for the assistance.
“This donation allows us to continually screen all our learners which will in turn help us to refer learners to the appropriate medical professionals. Without this device this would not be possible. Confirming a child’s hearing sensitivity is integral to their academic and personal development as well as their overall quality of life because hearing and communication are so interlinked,” she said.
