The Hollywood Foundation Team from Durban was ready to kick-off the Back to School campaign in KwaZulu-Natal on 17 January 2022! Members within the community nominated Hillview Senior Secondary in Newlands East as a school that required immediate assistance for the new schooling year. The school opened its doors to eager learners in 1978.
The school was overwhelmed to receive assistance. Previously, the learners at the school had no uniforms, as they came from poor backgrounds. The Team from HUTS were all smiles as they made their way to the school to hand over school uniforms, school shoes and stationery. The handover took place outside the school and also included the presence of prominent guests, such as Ward Councillor Graham Clarivette, Gender Director and Director General of the Premier’s Office, Phumele Mngomezulu, and a representative for the KZN Network on Violence against Women, Cookie Edwards.
Mr Charles Green, the Principal of Hillview Senior Secondary, extended his gratitude to the Hollywood Foundation for helping his learners through the campaign.
