Ronnie Mkhabela, a community member, nominated Alrapark Secondary School to receive assistance from the Back to School campaign this year. The school is based in Nigel, Gauteng, and has been educating learners since 1986. The Hollywood Foundation Team from Gauteng was proud to visit the school on 18 February 2022 to make a meaningful difference.
The school was established in 1986 and learners come from predominantly disadvantaged areas in the region. Apart from educating learners, the school also offers its learners psychological support, and a feeding scheme where they receive cooked meals. The school was thrilled to welcome the Team, who brought with them brand-new boxes of school shoes. The learners at the school would usually attend school wearing torn shoes, and this contribution will go a long way to ensure that the learners have proper shoes to walk to school this year.
Mr Katts, a Teacher at Alrapark Secondary School, thanked the Team for the visit and the kind contribution, and added that it will help to boost the learner’s self-esteem and improve their self-confidence.
