Kaya Malotana, an isiXhosa Presenter on Phaka Powered by Hollywoodbets, as well as a former South African rugby union player, nominated Qumbu Senior Primary School to receive assistance from the Hollywood Foundation’s Back to School campaign this year.
The school was established in 1973, and teachers, learners and parents were ecstatic to hear that they will be receiving support this year, as they were in need of help. The teachers at the school go above and beyond to ensure that learners are given a quality education, as learners at the school come from very disadvantaged communities. The school also offers sport and recreational activities for the learners. On 10 March 2022, the Team from the Eastern Cape was proud to visit the school to contribute brand-new boxes of school shoes for the learners to use this year.
NE Ndamane, a representative for Qumbu Senior Primary School, thanked the Team for their kind contribution, as school shoes are a necessary requirement for many children, that many parents are unable to afford.
