Based in Loskop Road, Estcourt, Amahlubi Secondary School has been making an active contribution in the lives of its learners since 1979. Receiving the news that the school will be benefitting from the Hollywood Foundation’s Back to School campaign was the best thing that has ever happened to the teachers and learners, as many learners were struggling in terms of owning a school uniform.
The school seeks to make an active contribution in the lives of these learners by also offering psychological support, career guidance and food parcels to highly vulnerable adolescents. The school has been functioning well, despite educating learners that found it difficult to attend school on a regular basis due to torn uniforms and torn shoes. Through the campaign, the Team from Estcourt was proud to hand over new school uniforms and school shoes for the learners to use.
Petros Sakhiwe Dlamini, the Principal of Amahlubi Secondary School, said that his hope is for the learners at the school to have a bright future, as many of them are affected and distracted by negative behaviours that may impact the rest of their lives.
